RV Tips and Tricks You Should Know
1. Traveling to explore different places in a miniature version of your home is appealing for many reasons, the main one being the freedom to roam and experience new and exciting places in comfort. Whatever the reason for your RV lifestyle, here are some tips and tricks that make it a lot more enjoyable and fun:
2. If you are a newbie to the RV life, make sure to take your RV on a practice drive to get use to driving a bigger and wider vehicle.
3. Take along extra tools and spare parts. If you are escaping to a remote location where services are not quickly available, you want to be self-reliant.
4. Only pack what you need to avoid clutter and build up. Have RV accessories that are useful and easily store in the limited space your RV offers.
5. Don’t carry unnecessary weight. The heavier your RV is, the more gas mileage you will accumulate.
6. Be prepared to be fully self-contained.
7. A first aid kit that has a variety of different things in it is invaluable to the RV traveller.
8. Your RV should have a load limit. Know what it is and do not exceed it. Be aware of the payload capacity and depending on what type of RV you have, you may also have a towing capacity if you are pulling your RV with a tow vehicle. Check your manual for safety.
9. Do research on the campground or RV park area you are going to use to make sure that they meet your expectations.
10. Always have a co-pilot who knows how to drive the RV to share the driving duties with to avoid fatigue and keep you safe.
11. Most on-board generators use the fuel from the RV’s tank. The generator will shut off when the fuel reaches a 1/4 to 1/8 level so that the RV can keep running with enough fuel to get to the next gas station.
